About C&E

My journey as an artist has been shaped by a love of timeless traditions and a commitment to mastering the classical techniques of sculpture and drawing. Originally from New York, I moved to Providence, Rhode Island, to open my studio in a beautifully restored 1870s mill, where I now share my passion for classical art. My artistic training spans the globe, from studying the Old Masters in Italy to learning under some of the most respected contemporary artists. I’ve had the privilege of studying with Jason Arkles in Florence, where I refined my understanding of figurative sculpture and classical techniques, and Kevin McEvoy in New York, whose mentorship further deepened my skills in traditional drawing and painting. I’ve also participated in numerous workshops, each of which has enriched my approach to both my craft and my teaching.

My path as an artist began with a fascination for capturing life’s essence through form and detail. This passion led me to immerse myself in classical methods such as sight-size drawing, constructive composition, and the delicate interplay of light and shadow. These techniques, rooted in centuries-old traditions, continue to shape my work and my perspective as an artist.

Today, I combine the skills I’ve acquired with my love of teaching, offering personalized classes and mentorship in my studio. Working with students and clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice—it’s a joy to share the knowledge and techniques I’ve gained through years of study and to help others develop their own creative voices. Whether I’m sculpting a custom commission or guiding a student through the foundations of drawing, my goal is always the same: to honor the depth of this world while exploring the beauty of simple moments that are always near.
